Phase Two: Current Projects
2006-2009
Chiquitano, Bolivia (Bolivia 1)
2008-2009
This is part of a large borehole and
water storage project involving
Rotary Clubs throughout the US.
WFH has committed to the funding of
20 pumps for boreholes that will
supply clean water for up to 15,000
indigenous people in 15 villages. The
Rotary Club of Amboro would be the
Host Club. The budget for our
portion of the project would be
$15,000 US, to cover the cost of the
pumps.
Concepcion, Bolivia (Bolivia 2)
(Pending)
We are waiting for GE/Zenon to
make an evaluation as to whether
this site meets its criteria for its next
philanthropic project. Should this
project go ahead, it would be similar
to the successful Tzaneen SA project
WFH completed in 2006. It involves
the building and installation of a
GE/Zenon membrane filtration plant
and the re-construction of the water
pipeline system in a town of 8,000
people. The nearby Rotary Club of
Santa Cruz would act as the Host
Club. The project will cost -- without
the Zenon Filtration Plant -- an
estimated $150,000 US. We are
currently awaiting word from Zenon
as to whether it is willing to take the
next step and send a group of
engineers to evaluate the proposed
site.
Mission Statement: Our mandate is to work closely with Rotarians and corporate partners to provide and fund, where possible, clean water delivery solutions for people in need throughout the world.
